Top Pick

Singer Futura XL400 Embroidery Machine

A quilting, sewing and embroidery machine that encompasses the best that Singer sewing machines have to offer.

Singer Futura XL400 Embroidery Machine

Let’s get straight to it, and I’ll be honest – if you want a quilting, sewing and embroidery machine that encompasses the best that Singer sewing machines have to offer, then the XL 400 might be one of the sewing machine products to consider closely.

Designs

To begin, it comes with 125 built in embroidery designs which is great for crafters of all levels to create different high quality products for themselves or others.

Those who like to design and edit personalized work can transfer embroidery designs via the included USB port where users can connect their computer.

This sewing machine includes helpful software and tutorials to enable designers to develop and build upon their skills and improve embroidery designs.

LED

I don’t know about you, but there are times when I can end up sewing into the night if inspiration has struck late, or a project has just taken that long.

For times like that, or if you just enjoy a bright, clear workspace then the 6 staybright LED lights really come in handy.

Other helpful features

Size matters with this machine, and that’s because this sewing and embroidery Singer unit has a multi-hooping system which allows embroidery designs of up to 12” X 20”.

If size isn’t your thing then there is still a 10” X 6” embroidery hoop option

Automatic Needle Threader

This makes life easier, especially when sewing in the dark like above!

Singer Heavy Duty 4452 Embroidery Machine

Best for heavy-duty features, one of the fastest embroidery machines featured on this list with 1100 stitches per minute.

Singer Heavy Duty 4452 Embroidery Machine

When the company says that this Singer embroidery unit is best for heavy-duty features, they mean it as it has more speed and power than other embroidery sewing hybrids – 50% more to be exact!

Design

This is a great Singer embroidery unit that would look good in any home or workspace.

The grey color stays fashionable and streamlined for many years to come as you work on different embroidery or quilting projects.

Speed

This is one of the fastest embroidery machines featured on this list or in any reviews online, as it’s built with a whopping 1100 sewing stitches per minute and comes with a motor 60% stronger than some of the other best embroidery machines available.

Stitches

Designers can choose from 32 built in stitches which makes fast work of projects.

The multiple feet included give users control over Singer sewing stitches and machine designs.

If that’s not enough, the automatic needle threader feature on this Singer machine allows users to focus on the stitches at hand rather than on the thread.

Extra highlights

I like that this machine does not shake, rattle or make noise when running.

It is one of those embroidery machines built with design in mind, evidenced by its heavy duty metal structure.

One of the elements that I personally miss from this machine is the speed control, as it is something I have come to enjoy over the years. So, those not used to a fast Singer unit may find material quickly getting away from them.

Specs

  • Color: Grey
  • Material: Metal
  • Dimensions: 15.5 x 6.25 x 12 inches
  • Weight: 15.7 Pounds

Pros

  • Fast Speed
  • Built with design and stitches in mind
  • Places high in other online reviews
  • Automatic thread feature

Cons

  • Too fast for beginners or those new to sewing
  • No speed control

Singer 7258 Embroidery Machine

A machine with 100 built-in stitches, made for those looking to create good, high-quality work.

Singer 7258 Embroidery Machine

This is another Singer sewing machine built with 100 built in stitches which is a large amount for those looking to create good, high-quality work.

The extra large heavy duty frame gives the sewing machine stability when creating work, something you may not get from other embroidery machines.

Features

Featuring a large, easy to read LCD monitor, the 7258 allows for the full adjustment of stitch length and width to allow for total tailorship of designs.

There are a number of included elements that make this a delightful sewing experience including; a high presser foot lift, 6-segment feeding system and automatic bobbin clutch to assist projects—making them that much simpler!

What feet are included?

I appreciate that this Singer unit comes with 10 feet, allowing users to jump in and design custom embroidery work.

Singer Quantum Stylist 9960

A that I would recommend to professionals or those who embroider at an expert level, or operate a business from home.

Singer Quantum Stylist 9960

As a sewer, I am someone who loves working with a big screen and this Singer embroidery and sewing unit comes with one that’s crystal clear and easy to use.

This feature makes quick work of selecting from a range of innovative and creative elements.

This is one of those machines that I would recommend to professionals or those who embroider at an expert level, or operate a business from home for example.

Features

One reason for this is due to the amazing amount of built-in stitches – 600 of them to be exact.

This is another Singer with the time-saving automatic needle threading feature, which does the work so you don’t have to.

Personally, I find threading infuriating sometimes, so it’s nice that this machine takes that away and doesn’t ruin the Singer sewing and embroidery experience with speed.

Extra highlights

Talking about experience, this is another of those machines that gives crafters the chance to dive right into a project.

This is thanks to the 10 sewing feet included so users don’t have to worry about purchasing separate items.

Speed

At 850 WPM, this is another of the embroidery machines that are good for people who run machines at an expert level, such as those who work or run a home business in embroidery.

However, those after a speed demon of a sewing and embroidery machine may find it best selecting another of the embroidery machines if working with multiple projects with a fast turnaround on a weekly basis.

Needle Threader

I have heard reports from users of this sewing and embroidery unit that sometimes there can be issues with the automatic needle threader.

However, this seems to be due to user error rather than machine fault, so try not to push this sewing and embroidery machine past its limits.

Specs

  • Color: White
  • Material: Metal
  • Power Source: Power Cord
  • Dimensions: 679.13 x 324.8 x 472.44 inches
  • Weight: 20 Pounds

Pros

  • Feet included
  • Stitches at perfect speed for novice or lower level Singer sewers.
  • Large amount of built in stitches – built for all designers

Cons

  • Not fastest stitches

Singer Confidence 7469Q

A great machine for design because of many features and extra working space.

Singer Confidence 7469Q

First things first, the Singer 7469 is one of the best sewing and embroidery machines for design as it has different features that enhance the sewing experience.

One of those easy features is the automatic needle threading (SwiftSmart) and the Drop and Sew bobbin winding system, which means users aren’t wasting time – this sewing and embroidery machine does it all for you.

This Singer machine is great as it was made to do what it says in the name – it gives confidence first, sewing experience second.

This machine is also the best computerized machine for embroidery (review here), which you could use to start your home embroidery business and show off your skills and designs.

Extension Table

Another different factor I like about this machine is that I can sew extra large projects thanks to the easy extension table that comes included, making it easy to create more space as needed.

There are a number of built in stitches and designs which can make personalization a breeze.

However it’s worth noting that this Singer design unit does not work well with thicker materials, so denim or leather is out of the question.

Warranty

This comes with a 25 year warranty, amazing for those wanting to work with sewing and embroidery machines for a long time.

If any Singer embroidery machines become faulty in those 25 years, then at least you know your machine is covered.

Specs

  • Color: White
  • Power Source: Cord
  • Dimensions: 17 x 8 x 12.5 inches
  • Weight: 16.3 Pounds

Pros

  • Warranty
  • Handy Singer features
  • Extension table

Cons

  • Does not work well with thicker materials

Singer Sew Mate 5400

Made this list based on user experience and reviews. It’s an easy to use heavy duty sewing machine built to deliver skip free sewing.

Singer Sew Mate 5400

Another top sewing machine that has made this list of the best machines based on user experience and reviews is the 5400 unit that comes with 60 sewing stitches.

A top feature for me is the automatic thread which is built to do the work so you don’t have to – it makes it so easy!

This is a fabulous machine as it is built to deliver skip free sewing no matter the level of experience.

Instructions

The included Singer DVD and instructions make the process easy, clear and concise.

It’s always a good reference should something go wrong!

Built to deliver 750 stitches per minute, this is an easy to use heavy duty sewing machine with a large free arm for those looking to create sleeves on a large top for example.

Warranty

The 5400 is built with a 25 year warranty, so users can rest well knowing that they are covered if they need repairs, or if a fault were to occur with the machine.

Some users from the community report issues with needles breaking, or bobbin issues which are never good. However, these reviews seem to be uncommon.

Specs

  • Color: White
  • Material: Metal
  • Power Source: Cord
  • Dimensions: 16.5 x 7.75 x 13 inches
  • Weight: 13 Pounds

Pros

  • Fast enough for all levels
  • 25 warranty
  • 60 sewing stitches

Cons

  • Potential needle or bobbin problems

Singer 6180

For those looking for many features without a hefty price tag, this may be the singer unit for you.

Singer 6180

With this Singer sewing and embroidery machine, I like the varying needle positioning which allows for greater thread placement and the best control over embroidery stitches and designs.

The 6180 has an element that I didn’t know I couldn’t live without until I used it: the 1 touch reserve stitch function.

This allows users to remove a stitch at the push of a button.

Features

For those looking for many features without a hefty pricetag, this may be the unit for you as it is built for value.

Offering a range of decorative and stretch stitches, there are 80 of the best built in stitches, including 58 decorative ones that allow users to stitch in style and have a 6.5MM maximum width.

Home Use

This would not be a recommendation for those who run a home business or have a large production rate/turnover of products, as it may be detrimental to the overall life of the unit. Another welcome element is the included accessories pack, with included feet.

These allow users to jump straight into a project, whether that is embroidering a quilt or a newtop.

Build

An element of the 6180 that deserves special mention is the rigid, large and well-made heavy duty frame which is built to last and made with designing in mind.

This creates little stability issues when creating your best work. And, this is something that I have found in reviews too.

This is built for purpose and is why you may find it on top of many reviews.

Specs

  • Color: White
  • Material: Metal
  • Power Source: NA
  • Dimensions: 16.5 x 8 x 12.5 inches
  • Weight: 14.5 Pounds

Pros

  • Heavy duty frame
  • Needle positioning

Cons

  • Not enough stitches for some professionals

Best for the Money

Singer M3300

A compact, powerful and easy to use machine that works well with customizable stitches, widths and lengths.

Singer M3300

Coming in at one of the cheapest in any reviews I have seen, the M3300 is a good machine that works well with customizable stitches, widths and lengths.

It is one of the more compact, powerful and easy to use Singer units and sewing machines.

Free Arm

The free arm feature allows for total tailorability for embroidery, allowing users to create designs on sleeves for arms as well as the back of an item.

The 3 presser feet included as well as the accessories give users the chance to crack straight on and make high quality embroidery designs right away.

There are elements of this that work well for all users and are good to ensure an easy sewing experience.

Time Savers

The front loading bobbin makes it easy to change, and the pedal pressure-based sewing machine is adjustable.

There is also a reverse stitch, which is a feature that I didn’t know I would like as much as I do now when I started my sewing journey.

More helpful features

I would say that this is the best for a new or inexperienced sewer looking to get to grips with their first creation and make a top quality product without wasting time.

Those looking to create their first extra large project may want to choose another of the best quality units to place high on this review, as this doesn’t offer a large workspace table for use or space extension feature.

Designing

Good for those looking to step their toes into the design work, this may produce the best high quality design and personalized embroidery design pieces for the overall cost.

Not as expensive or heavy duty as others from the list, it may truly be a good investment for those looking for a unit that will work well.

Specs

  • Color: White
  • Material: Metal
  • Power Source: Cord
  • Dimensions: 590.55 x 246.06 x 472.44 inches
  • Weight: 13.6 Pounds

Pros

  • Price
  • High quality garments and creations in small and mighty sewing machine
  • Best for first time use or first time embroiders

Cons

  • Not the machine for professionals compared to others in this review
  • Potential issues with big projects
  • Small selection of feet
  • Not the top choice for a business

Singer 14T968DC

An embroidery only machine for cutting and joining together fabrics.

Singer 14T968DC

I’ve included this as I know a few people from the sewing community who use this machine and swear by it for the decorative stitches and fabric combinations.

If you want a sewing machine, skip this as it’s a multi needle embroidery machine only.

A serger cuts fabric as well as joining pieces together, and this Singer embroidery unit does just that.

Tension System

Self adjusting tension system means that users don’t have to worry about fiddling with controls all the time despite the 2-3-4-5- thread capability this has.

It can sew a seam, finish a seam and trim excess at the same time.

Decorative edges and decorative flatlock help put the finishing touches on the hems of projects, including fashion and home decor.

Built-in Stitches

14 built in stitches allows for hems design and adaption and the stitch length control gives complete tailorability.

The price is high compared to some other sergers, however I find from experience and other reviews that this is built to top most competition.

Specs

  • Color: White
  • Material: Metal
  • Power Source: Cord
  • Dimensions: 11 x 12.5 x 14 inches
  • Weight: 20 Pounds

Pros

  • Feed dogs

Cons

  • Not a sewing machine, can only be used for decorative hem work
  • Price can be too high for some

Singer C5200

A heavy duty unit for all skill levels, the C5200 is a good all-around machine that stands out functionally and aesthetically.

Singer C5200

Looking for a heavy duty unit for all skill levels? Well, the C5200 is a good all-around machine that stands out functionally and aesthetically.

The striking turquoise unit offers a fabulous 80 stitches that can be selected via the touch button system and the LCD window well.

This is where users can also select stitch length, which is adjustable up to 6.5mm.

Features

The handy LED light is strong and works well in dark or low-light conditions.

The automatic needle threader is a time saving feature that works well if you are someone who doesn’t get on with threading – we all have those moments!

The front loading bobbin and easy to use bobbin winding system is also a great element that works well too.

Feet

The darning foot makes free motion embroidery possible for personalized projects, such as quilts and there is an included extension table which gives users the chance to level up the work area as projects and items evolve in size.

Unit Design

While the color is striking, this may be a negative for those looking to invest in a unit that works well for a long time.

This may not be the design that works well with some decor.

If you are someone that likes to work in a space that works well for you, this may stand out for the wrong reasons.

Specs

  • Color: Turquoise
  • Material: Metal
  • Power Source: Cord
  • Dimensions: NA
  • Weight: 18.51 Pounds

Pros

  • LED lights
  • Number of stitches
  • Heavy duty, all round machine

Cons

  • Not the top design choice for all users

Singer Quantum 9985

A portable unit that is an ideal second sewing machine. It comes with precious time saving elements and built in stitch designs.

Singer Quantum 9985

This is a top portable unit that is an ideal second sewing machine.

Or, it can be a good one to take out and about, especially if you own an extra large professional, heavy duty industry standard machine.

Stitches

There is an astonishing number of built in stitch designs that give users and creators limitless potential.

It doesn’t stop there – there are a number of different designs, and high quality items, including a number of foot accessories and extras that allow users to tailor any piece of work.

Speed and Features

This is not a slow machine by any stretch of the imagination either.

Coming in at 850 stitches per minute, this makes fast work of most projects and can get long seams done with speed, and seamlessly (get it?)!

The 9985 is a machine that comes with precious time saving elements, such as an automatic needle threader which means users aren’t left fiddling with needles when they could be sewing to their heart’s content.

Specs

  • Color: White
  • Material: Metal
  • Power Source: Treadle
  • Dimensions: 17.25 x 8.5 x 12.5 inches
  • Weight: 20 Pounds

Pros

  • Number of stitches
  • Fast for a commercial machine
  • Great portability

Cons

  • Expensive

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Singer a Good Brand?

Singer Logo
Singer Logo

Singer is probably one of the most recognizable brands in the community, and has been a staple machine for generations – since the 1850’s!

However, does that make them, specifically, good?

Reputation

Singer’s are known to be long-lasting and durable, producing high-quality work and projects for sewers. For some, this is enough to be classed as “good”.

I wouldn’t say this is the case – in order to decide if Singer is a brand for you, it must be questioned whether a Singer embroidery machine fits your personal criteria as an individual sewer.

Overall, you should decide for yourself whether Singer sewing embroidery machines help improve the sewing experience.

Where is Singer made?

Despite what many may believe, Singer machines are not made within the USA, even though they have been a staple in the American sewing community for years and generations.

Today Singer is controlled by SVP Worldwide, who also produce Viking, Pfaff and Husqvaqrna which means their products are made in Vietnam, China, Brazil and Taiwan.

However, as a brand and HQ, Singer / SVP Worldwide are based in Tennessee, USA.

Singer Futura Embroidery Machine Troubleshooting

As sewers, sometimes we run into difficulties with a machine, even if we are the most experienced creator.

Here are a few helpful tips and tricks that could help you if you ever see yourself in a tangle with a Singer embroidery machine.

Going through a lot of needles?

This may be due to your needles outliving their shelf life.

Working with bent or damaged needles can snap needles.

If you are someone who likes to pull material through a machine, stop! That’s what the feed dogs are there for.

NOTE

Forcing material through a machine rather than guiding it can be counter productive and cause a needle to “deflect” which can then cause needle breakage.

Are your needles skipping stitches?

This may be an indication that your needles are not inserted into the embroidery machine properly.

Make sure that the flat side goes towards the back in order for a needle to fit into the clamp properly.

If using stretch fabrics like stretch knit, then you may try switching to ballpoint needles in order to tackle this.

Bobbin Case

Should your machine jam underneath in the bobbin case area, then it may be the case that your bobbin is wound unevenly.

Use a bobbin thread winding guide to see if this fixes the problem when threading a bobbin.

TIP

Is your fabric tunnelling when stitching? – try a fabric stabilizer when working on an embroidery project.

Singer Futura Embroidery Machine Software

Singer Futura XL-400 Unit
Singer Futura XL-400 Unit

Did you know that there is certain software that Singer uses when working with designs in the Futura embroidery machine series units?

Many units come with DVDs, free online classes and tutorials that show users how to set up a machine and how to develop their skills as they go through their sewing journey.

Simply pop the disk in your computer, select a course and you’re ready to go!

There are specific softwares too, depending on the design.

For example, the Futura autopunch software gives a hand-sewn cross-stitch appearance.

Singer Embroidery Machine Software

There are a number of softwares available from Singer that give users the chance to develop their work and project designs.

For example the PREMIER+™ 2 Embroidery Software was made to enhance embroidery and quilting.

The Singer Vantage software also gives users access to information and courses to learn more about their machine or unit, which is always a welcome element!

Singer Embroidery Machine File Format

Singers as standard use XXX. This is a file format where an embroidery design is made from an image, which tells the machine the color, order and number of stitches in given designs.

This is the most commonly used for a Singer embroidery machine, but other file types can be read by a Singer sewing machine, including .CHE and .PSW files.

Below are the files that can normally be read from Futura Singer sewing machine units.

Other file types:

  • XXX
  • PSW
  • HUS
  • DST
  • CHE
  • EXP
  • PCS
  • PEC
  • SHV
  • PES
  • VIP
  • SEW

How to use singer sewing machine for embroidery

Singers can be used for a myriad of sewing and creative projects including quilting, but that doesn’t mean there are not some specific ways to use a great Singer embroidery machine for embroidery specific requirements.

Certain Singer units allow you to adapt the sewing experience depending on the project and design outcome needed.

Those who want to personalize or upload embroidery designs can do so via a Singer embroidery machine USB port or the dedicated software above, which allows you to truly tailor design elements in different ways.

Built-in Designs

Those looking to work with some of the many built in embroidery designs that come in Singer units can do so by selecting what they need and getting straight to work.

Depending on the Singer embroidery machine, some of these sewing stitches can be adapted and personalized to match designs, offering true potential.

Here is the XL-400 in action…

Extra Space

If you work with an extra large embroidery commission or project then Singer sewing machines allow you to adapt and tailor the machine space by swapping embroidery hoops that allow users to increase or decrease design areas as needed.

Things to consider when buying the best janome embroidery machine

Purpose

When I am asked about the purpose of a machine, I always get the inquirer to weigh up their options and give some consideration to what kind of life their machine will live.

Each will be different.

What an individual user may love, another may hate, and everyone expects different things from their heavy duty sewing machine.

How long do you expect to use the sewing machine? Do you want it for years to come? Is this a home machine, or a find for a business?

Function

The answer to each of these questions could lead you to a different machine, so it’s important to give some consideration to what you would like in a new machine and whether there are any features or elements that are required options.

Usability

There’s also a consideration of whether a user is an expert or an amateur sewer.

No one wants a sewing machine they don’t know their way around, and what’s the point in buying something you don’t need?

Skill Level

When you’re in the market for a machine it’s best to shop and examine product reviews before choosing one of the best Singer embroidery sewing machines – no matter your skill level.

Capability

However, if you are someone who doesn’t have years behind the pedal, this could potentially limit you to which products you could choose from, as even the best Singer units have many features and elements that could be confusing or overwhelming.

Learn

That doesn’t mean don’t consider a Singer machine, it means give a thought to whether you are someone who wants to remain an amateur or level up their projects and grow as a creator.

A sewer who is looking to develop their skill would be wise to consider buying a Singer embroidery machine that allows them to tackle features and improve skills at their own pace.

Choosing the Right One

Sewing Machine Stitching a Pattern
Sewing Machine Stitching a Pattern

I started out with a Singer embroidery machine that was well above my skill level when I was younger – it belonged to my gran.

I could only just about create a pillowcase at the time, but she gave it to me anyway.

This allowed me to grow and strengthen my skills without purchasing a new sewing machine before I had the basics down.

High End Models

Experts or those who run a home/professional embroidery business might want to go straight for an extra large sewing and embroidery machine that has all the bells and whistles.

This type of machine should ensure the very best quality products and embroidery designs for customers, clients and commissions.

Features

Purchasing a product that has elements including easy sewing stitches, a fast stitch sewing speed, automatic threader or extra large LCD can really make all the difference.

A heavy duty metal frame machine is quite literally built with embroidery design in mind first.

Price

What should your price range be to purchase a machine? That’s definitely something you will have to review and have a think about.

Will a Singer embroidery machine from this list tickle your fancy or not? That’s ultimately up to you.

Those with a machine budget in the lower range of Singer machines, don’t worry – you’re not going to go without.

Function

Every single Singer embroidery and sewing machine is made with design work in mind…

Every single Singer embroidery and sewing machine is made with design work in mind – from the pedal to the bobbin winding system to the motor.

I will be honest though, depending on what you can spend on a purchase, you may find yourself sacrificing one or two features that are available on bigger, more expensive machines.

I have also met some who consider the built-in software a bit lacking and swear by their choice of the best embroidery software around. Your personal mileage (or should I say yardage?) may vary.

Quality

Those who can purchase more expensive, quality heavy duty embroidery machines are likely to enjoy elements of embroidery design that could improve the experience.

No matter the price range you decide on for a sewing and Singer embroidery machine, think about whether you are getting value for money and whether you are getting everything you want or expect from a heavy duty machine.

Warranty

Something as simple as having a warranty can really give some users peace of mind they require to create freely.

When purchasing a sewing machine with embroidery design capabilities, take a look at how long you will be covered by a manufacturer warranty should the sewing and embroidery machine happen to break or become faulty when using it.

Replacement And Repair

Sewing Machine Bobbin Area
Sewing Machine Bobbin Area

No one wants something to happen to their machine and find they are not covered.

That means buying a new sewing machine, or paying for someone to come and repair a sewing machine – and repairing a heavy duty embroidery machine isn’t cheap.

This is another element where foresight is required.

Plan Ahead

Have a think about the life of the sewing and embroidery machine.

If you expect to use this machine for a long time, then a 25 year warranty would be best to ensure a positive sewing experience for years to come.

If you are using Singer sewing machines as a beginner, for specific embroidery or portability, then a lower warranty may be sufficient.

RECOMMENDATION

I would always suggest that someone gets covered for as long as possible. But, if you know you will be replacing a sewing and embroidery machine in 5 years, for example, then you only need a warranty for that time.

LCD Screen

Not all Singer embroidery units come with the same screen and features, so if you are someone who wants a big, crystal clear unit, then choose a sewing machine that is just that.

Some sewing and embroidery machines have massive, colorful LCD screens that allow users to directly choose and edit embroidery designs rather than worrying about whether edits or modifications will come out as envisioned.

Different Types

The Singer embroidery machine you get will depend on the elements that can be edited, shown and adjusted on a sewing machine’s LCD screen too.

Not every Singer embroidery machine will come with the same screen.

I personally find that a bigger, clearer, larger screen improves the Singer sewing and embroidery experience.

Embroidery Designs, Stitches and Patterns

How you benefit and improve your sewing and embroidery experience with built in embroidery designs, built in stitches and elements depends on skill level, purpose and use.

Individuals with lower levels of skill or sewing experience in my eyes would do well with a fewer number of built in features in order to not get overwhelmed.

Experts or professionals would be best to select a good Singer sewing machine with numerous sewing stitches, embroidery designs and built in stitches in order to deliver the best high quality products they can.

More Design Options

A larger number of sewing patterns, embroidery designs and stitches allows for a more tailorable Singer sewing experience

It’ll give you more chances to sew different personalized embroidery designs. The more you have, the more you can do, and the sky’s the limit!

File Compatibility

There are certain file types that are readable by a sewing machine, but they can’t read everything.
Ensure that any files worked on or imported are compatible in the form of XXX stitch file.

There are also a number of stitch types or options a Singer quilting sewing and embroidery machine can work with.

TIP

When working on personal embroidery designs built on a machine, make sure the compatible files are put into a specific folder, otherwise they may not be readable or viewable on the Singer sewing machine interface.

Automatic Threader

An automatic needle threader can really make or break sewing machines, or heavily influence the decision to buy a product for a home or business.

I personally prefer a Singer embroidery machine that features an automatic needle threader as I find that it is a time saving feature.

And to be honest, I just find threading a needle fiddly and annoying!

Convenience

Singer embroidery and sewing quilting machines that feature automatic threading just seem to make the job easier and give you a top sewing experience overall.

There’s nothing more annoying than spending significant time threading a needle, only for it to unthread minutes later. It’s a cycle that can really put a damper on sewing projects.

Wrapping Up the Thread

And that’s it for this review! Have you decided yet which is the best sewing machine for free motion quilting? For a recap, take a quick look below.

Top Pick

The top pick would be the Futura XL400, as it can make embroidery designs come to life with ease and comes with anything you might want to work freely, including an automatic needle thread feature.

Editor’s Choice

Editor’s Choice among the embroidery machines is the Singer Confidence, as it gives an all around sewing experience with many embroidery designs.

Best for the Money

The best budget machine in my review is the Singer m3300, as it comes with elements that are normally only seen on more expensive embroidery machines.

Best Value

The ideal Singer for value is the 4452 because it offers more for the money, including lots of embroidery designs.

I hope you take something away that will really help you! Until next time, you can take a look at other articles on a host of machine topics found here.
